The LTO authorization code (also called "auth code") is the digital proof that your CTPL insurance is valid and registered in the LTO system. Here's everything you need to know about what it is, how it works, and how to get yours online.
The LTO authorization code is a unique alphanumeric code generated when your CTPL insurance policy is issued and transmitted to the LTO's ISAP-COCAS system. It serves as digital proof that your vehicle has valid, IC-accredited third-party liability insurance.
When you visit an emission testing center or LTO office, you present this code (or your digital COC) instead of a printed document. The LTO verifies it in their system in real-time.
You Buy CTPL Insurance
Purchase CTPL from an IC-accredited provider like CTPLExpress. Your policy is issued and transmitted to the LTO ISAP-COCAS system in real-time.

At the Emission Testing Center
Present your auth code on your phone. The PETC or PMVIC staff will verify it in the ISAP-COCAS system before conducting your emission test.
At the LTO Office
Show your auth code along with your other registration documents. The LTO will verify your CTPL is valid before processing your registration or renewal.
Keep It for Your Records
Save the SMS or take a screenshot. You can also check your policy status anytime using your reference number on our Check Policy page.
Is the LTO auth code the same as the COC number?
No. The COC (Certificate of Cover) number is your policy's unique identifier. The auth code is a separate verification code generated when your policy is transmitted to the LTO ISAP-COCAS system. Both are sent to you after your CTPL is issued.
What if I didn't receive my auth code via SMS?
First, check your Check Policy page using your reference number — your auth code will be displayed if your application is Completed. If it's still not there, contact support@ctplexpress.ph with your reference number.
Do I need to print my auth code?
No. You can present the auth code directly on your phone screen at the emission center or LTO. They will verify it in the ISAP-COCAS system electronically.
Can someone else use my auth code for their vehicle?
No. The auth code is linked to your specific vehicle's plate number and policy details. It cannot be transferred or used for another vehicle.
How long is the auth code valid?
The auth code is valid for the duration of your CTPL coverage period — 1 year for annual renewals, or 3 years for new vehicle registrations.
