LTO registration renewal is based on the last digit of your plate number, which corresponds to a specific month of the year. You can renew up to 1 month before your scheduled month. Late renewals incur penalties.

Secure CTPL Insurance
Get CTPL from an IC-accredited provider like CTPLExpress. Your LTO auth code is delivered via SMS within 15–60 minutes after payment verification during working days.
Pass Emission Testing
Visit an LTO-accredited PETC or PMVIC. Present your vehicle for emission testing and get a passing certificate.
Complete MVIS Inspection
Your vehicle undergoes a Motor Vehicle Inspection to check roadworthiness at the LTO or PMVIC.
Submit Documents at LTO
Present all required documents at the LTO counter. Your CTPL auth code is verified in the ISAP-COCAS system.
Pay Registration Fees
Pay the LTO renewal fee based on vehicle type. Keep the Official Receipt (OR).
Receive New OR/CR
Your new Certificate of Registration (CR) and Official Receipt (OR) are issued — typically same-day.

How much is the late registration penalty at the LTO?
Late renewal penalties typically range from ₱200–₱300 per week of delay, depending on vehicle type. Avoid penalties by renewing within your scheduled month.
Can I renew my LTO registration online?
The LTO has been rolling out online renewal options, but most renewals still require an in-person visit for MVIS inspection and emission testing. However, you can get your CTPL insurance online from CTPLExpress to save time.
Do I need to print my CTPL policy for LTO renewal?
No printing is required. You can present your digital CTPL policy and auth code directly on your phone at the emission center or LTO office.
How early can I renew my LTO registration?
You can renew up to 1 month before your plate number's scheduled month. For example, if your plate ends in 5 (May), you can renew starting April 1.
